Where? Exactly..

The office is in the very centre of the historic centre of Florence:
1 min. walk to the north is Piazza Repubblica.
1 min. east is Piazza Signoria and the Uffizi gallery and
2 min. south is the Ponte Vecchio.

95% of first-time patients find the office without bother.
The remainder can struggle for a variety of reasons:

  • Often the piazza is not mentioned on many tourist maps as it is quite small and the piazza has quite a long name.
  • Google maps has the wrong location (close, but the arrow just points to the middle of the street)
  • confusion over the naming of the piazza:
  • The name on the street sign is Piazza Mercato Nuovo.
  • The official name used by the postal service is Loggia del Mercato Nuovo.
  • The nickname used by Florentines is Loggia del Porcellino in honour of the statue of the bronze boar.

If you are asking directions from the locals or instructing a taxi driver where to go it's best to ask for the Loggia del Porcellino.
Otherwise you could be directed to Piazza Mercato Centrale, about 1 mile away.

OK, so you have found the piazza, where is number 1?
The piazza, being a square has 4 sides.
No. 1 is on the east side.
i.e. If you are looking at the face of the bronze boar or you have your back to the H&M clothes shop then No. 1 is on the right side of the square.

Last but not least....
the GPS co-ordinates are :
N 43° 46' 11" (43.77027)
E 11° 15' 15" (11.25418)
(NB cars are not allowed in the centre of Florence)
The nearest parking is at the Train Station, Santa Maria Novella (on the West side) or there is a private garage on via Ghibellina near the Bargello)

The most noticable landmark for a lot of women patients is that it is by the H&M shop just up from the Ponte Vecchio
